January Events

To Our Church Family: from Pastor Hicks For 2017, we provided in print and on our website daily scripture
readings that would have allowed you to read the Bible in one year. Consistent with that for 2018, I would like to recommend two daily devotionals that will aid in your growth and fellowship with the Lord.

These support our vision of growing together as seek, serve, love and grow together as one body of Christ. Read the descriptions below and maybe one of them will appeal to you. They are both excellent and also available in Kindle versions:
1. Year with God: Living Out the Spiritual Disciplines by Richard J Foster – Year with God explores eighteen spiritual disciplines, spread throughout the year. Many people are longing to find the footprint of God in their daily lives. This beautiful daily companion is comprised of 365 selections of scripture, commentary, meditations, and daily
exercises to help readers see how they can bring their entire life into a life with Emmanuel – God who is with His people.

2. The NRSV Daily Bible Read; Meditate, and Pray through the entire Bible in 365 Days, Harper Bibles – Each of its 365 daily Bible readings is accompanied by prayers and a thought-provoking excerpt from a Christian spiritual classic writings of luminaries such as Henri Nouwen, Deitrich Bonhoeffer, Mother Teresa and Frederick Buechner.
If you desire a time of fellowship with others from our church – Steven Curtis Chapman is going to be in solo concert at Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel, CT on Sunday evening – April 15, 2018. A group of 10 allows for discounted tickets.
If interested, we would need someone to coordinate this effort or purchase individual tickets.

Bible Study on Wednesday Evening at 7:00 p.m. January 17th. All are welcome to attend (For one hour)

Good Friday’s Coffee House ————————–January 26th 2018
