WELCOME UMC NAUGATUCK
Sunday Service: 10:15 am
We are a warm and friendly congregation who believe strongly in the term, Family of God. We seek to be in ministry and prayer together building relationships with each other as we grow in our relationship with God. We encourage families to worship together. Our church has a long history of being missions-minded especially with those in need in the Naugatuck Valley. We hope that you will feel welcome here.
Dear NUMC Church Family and Friends:
As we enter this great season of Lent on our Christian calendar, I would like to offer you some readings and reflections that may prompt you to do some self reflection during the next 40 days and beyond. These readings will be focused on prayer; looking at scriptures that have the potential to re-shape our prayer lives. These are some of my personal thoughts as I have read these scriptures and pondered the lesson to be learned. You may find them beneficial, as I have. Also included at the end is a prayer starter; that is just a thought of gratitude to the Lord for sharing his heart with us. As I begin to give thanks, it prompted me to say other things in my prayers. It may or may not affect you the same way. As you thank God for His goodness, allow Him to talk to you, as well, so that the relationship will grow.
The early church prayed through difficult situations and God heard, and answered them. No, it is not just people in the Bible who receive answers to prayer, it is people like you and me who pray, believe, and trust God every day to supply all of our needs. I believe, though that we get our courage from those who have gone before us. As the scripture says “we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses.” Hebrews 12:1
I thank God for all that He has given to us, and promised us. It is the source of our joy. It is strength in times of weakness, it is calm in the midst of a storm.
Memory Verse for the week
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort off the Scriptures might have hope. – Romans 15:4
